The speakers and the final details of the format for the RBN & NBN Expo 2020 have been announced.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions this event will be a "virtual event" held on Zoom. 

RBN Chairman, David Gibson says, "Despite the current restrictions we felt that we could still bring people together with an online event. We're really pleased with the range and quality of the speakers who have agreed to support us - There should be loads of great information and chat to help everyone." 

Speakers are:

A - Carl Wright, Clive Owen LLP

Carl qualified with a small practice in Stockton-on-Tees, working in a variety of roles including audit, accounts, managed services and business planning.  He joined Clive Owen in 2014 to specialise in grants advisory work and was promoted to promoted to Director in 2020. Carl spends the vast majority of his time supporting clients with all aspects of the grant application process including application support, appraisal work and grant audits. He also provides state aid advice to a number of grant scheme administrative bodies, including several Local Enterprise Partnerships. He works with businesses across all sectors of the economy and his clients range from motor manufacturers to contact centres.

Away from grants he also supports clients with financial projections and business planning assignments. He gets immense satisfaction from supporting and guiding clients through the process and seeing the positive outcomes.

Cash Flow Management Matters!

As businesses continue to grapple with the impact of COVID19, and with Brexit looming, Carl will share some tips on cash flow management. This session is intended to help you focus in on the importance of cash and identify any potential cash flow issues before they seriously impact on your operations.

B - Gillian Fortune, Feelgood CIC

 Gillian has taught thousands of busy people how to tackle the daily stresses of life, work and challenging people in ways that are straightforward, practical and effective.

With a job title of ‘No-nonsense Stress-Buster’ Gillian will deliver a 20-minute Zoom session for busy people on ‘Managing Change and Uncertainty’ that will provide you with key techniques for staying calm, in control and reducing stress.

At the beginning of Covid-19 Gillian had never used Zoom and after utilising all of her stress-busting techniques and strategies for handling change – she now runs weekly ‘Stress-Busting’ webinars for busy people and online workplace courses for employees who deal directly with customers.

With a solution-focused attitude, Gillian provides busy people with practical actions to help tackle life’s challenges and her no-nonsense delivery style gets to the point.

Her webinars for busy people provide efficient and effective techniques and strategies to help you to stay in control and stress less. Better still there are no introductions, ice-breakers or group work – Just 60-minutes of solution-focused action.

C - David Brown (Northumbria University)

David Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, where he is also the leader of the PhD Programme and of the undergraduate and Masters modules, “Modern Brand Management”, “Global Consumers and Marketplaces” and “Content and Communications Marketing”.

A professionally qualified teacher and marketer, before entering academia he gained 18 years’ experience in senior sales, network and marketing management roles for international field marketing agencies and a major motor manufacturer. He continues to provide funded consultancy to organisations such as The Marketing Trust, the Tees Valley Combined Authority and its Mayoral Office, and to numerous SMEs through the UK Government’s Small Business Charter. David’s diverse research interests include relationship marketing, Higher Education teaching strategies, qualitative research methodologies, Serious Leisure and mountain tourism, and the adoption and use of technology by consumers. He regularly disseminates his research at conferences, through journals and in print. His new book, “Internal Marketing: Theories, Perspectives and Stakeholders”, will be published by Routledge next month.

David will give his views on how SMEs can deal with four key issues during the current situation.

D - Karon Brown (A1 Community Works)

Karon has 10 years experience with A1 Community Works, working to develop courses targeted at retiring soldiers and other members of the community who are looking for bespoke training.

She is a retired lawyer with experience in sales negotiations, training, and property management. She is an NLP Trainer, master coach and an international digital champion working in Europe with partners in Germany,Cyprus, Italy, Greece, Poland and Portugal.
