Richmond School scoop national education award

Richmond School and Sixth Form College have won a national award for their work in developing inclusive assistive technology provision for students within their locality.  The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Edufuturists, a group of educators who provide training, keynote talks and consultancy for educators and change leaders who want to improve their organisation with cloud-based technology.

Imogen Thornton, who recently completed her studies at Richmond Sixth Form College, is riding high after being head-hunted for her dream job at Ann Duffield Racing.  Hot on the heels of achieving Distinction* and two Distinctions in her Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport & Physical  Activity,  Imogen is taking on a wide range of responsibilities.

Original Richmond Rewarded at Yorkshire in Bloom Awards

Original Richmond has again taken home a silver gilt in the Yorkshire in Bloom awards held at York racecourse.

The judges said, “There is an enthusiastic sense of community commitment to in Bloom. The involvement of businesses and residents is to be commended”. They continued, “The floral displays throughout give the town a very inviting appearance...Richmond was very clean and well maintained with very few empty premises”.

Ben Dowson is planning a degree apprenticeship in professional policing through North Yorkshire Police.  Whilst studying hard for his A-levels, achieving excellent grades of ABB in Maths, Biology and History, Ben devoted a significant amount of his time to working as a Police Cadet. Ben has really embraced his experience of policing and he is taking a year out to gain further work experience and is aiming to develop his skills working with the public.

Lee gives emergency treatment in M61 incident

A&E company director, Lee Whitworth, stopped on the M61 last week to help a gentleman who had fallen from a motorway bridge. 

Acting as first on scene until the fast response paramedic arrived, Lee assisted until the air ambulance arrived.

A&E Training are not just passionate about training, but also willing to put their skills to use when and if needed - and you never know when that's going to be.
