What is GetHarley?

GetHarley is the new skincare concierge service at Ginger Tree Holistic Skin & Lifestyle Clinic.  Kathy Scott, Holistic & Advanced Skin Therapist and owner of Ginger Tree is very excited by the benefits this new service will offer to her business and to clients. Ginger Tree is the first holistic skin clinic to use this service in the North of England.

Two students, two teachers, an ex-student and a former teacher at Richmond School and Sixth Form College are among fourteen volunteers honoured by Yorkshire RFU for their contribution to rugby in Richmond. Every year, Yorkshire RFU ask clubs to nominate their outstanding volunteers and their contribution is recognised at the Mitsubishi Volunteer Awards Evening. This year, the event is virtual via video, to celebrate the amazing work of the rugby volunteers, and is hosted by The RFU’s Chief Executive, Mike Tindall MBE and England World Cup Winner, and the President and Chair of Yorkshire RFU.

Employers are facing many new employment law issues and health and safety obligations as restrictions begin to be eased and employees are returning to the workplace.  Many organisations, already financially affected by COVID-19, now have the additional legal responsibility to provide “COVID-secure” workplaces while also monitoring staff wellbeing and confidence. Failure to do so could result in costly legal fees and fines.

Four kind-hearted, young volunteers are helping the elderly and vulnerable in Richmondshire by supporting Age UK with home deliveries of essential provisions. George Smith, a Year 13 student at Richmond Sixth Form College, and his sisters, Connie and Hannah, and friend Arte Dawson, all former-students, are devoting time each week to offer their valuable support.

Three students from Richmond School and Sixth Form College are celebrating after successfully achieving highly-sought-after apprenticeships. In spite of a sudden and unexpected end to their studies, they have shown initiative and determination in securing the first step of their careers, in Electrics, Marketing and Civil Engineering, and are being praised by their employers for their maturity and strong work ethic.

We know from our recent survey that you, as leaders are worried about how your team members are feeling about the safety of their workplace in the post lockdown world, and how anxious the team are feeling as they return to work.   
 
To help, and to enable a successful and sustainable return to trading, we have created a "COVID-19 Stay Safe Team Checker".

Over the last two years, many employers have been offering industry placements - an extended period of structured time that a student spends in the workplace, developing real skills and making a meaningful contribution to the organisation.

Millie Aston, a Year 12 student at Richmond Sixth Form College, has passed the British Sign Language (BSL) course, achieving 100% in all ten modules.  Seventeen-year-old Millie was prompted to study for the qualification after encountering hearing loss herself and appreciating first-hand how challenging and alienating deafness can be.
