We have moved our fully funded Innovation Workshops online to support businesses during the Covid-19 crisis and beyond. PAPI innovation workshops are available to SMEs in York, North Yorkshire and East Riding and offer two days of funded time with acclaimed business coach, Dr Jo North, offering practical tools and support. The first day happens twice (4th June and 11th June), with the second day taking place across the week of 22nd June. These sessions will all be delivered via Zoom.

A group of diligent and dedicated Year 12 students, from Richmond Sixth Form College, have graduated from The Brilliant Club, a charity which aims to widen access for outstanding students in non-selective state schools to the UK’s most-selective universities. The students’ hard work was rewarded, following a four-month study programme, which culminated in them submitting a final assignment for assessment.

As we enter the fourth week of lockdown, the CelebrateRichmond950 team have met on Zoom to talk about how plans for the celebration of Richmond and its castle next year can continue.

Following news from the National Lottery Heritage Fund that they have suspended their normal grant programme in favour of supporting the heritage sector, which is entirely understandable, Carol Watson, Phil Upton and Marcia McLuckie agreed a discussion was needed to consider the way forward in the absence of the possibility of Lottery funding.

North Yorkshire’s Trading Standards service is offering free advice to businesses in the county to support them during the Covid-19 outbreak.

The County Council service will waive fees for its business advice for the next six months.

North Yorkshire Buy Local have launched the North Yorkshire Buy Local website to bring together businesses and residents looking for services during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Students at Richmond School and Sixth Form College have pooled their creative talents to craft 150 Easter cards which will be delivered to a local care home and other elderly residents in Richmond. The students are children of key workers who are being cared for by teachers at Richmond School during the Easter holidays and they really enjoyed the challenge of making and decorating the cards.
